What To Do at the Fork in the Road

Do you know who said:

“When you come to a fork in the road, take it!”

Before you are let off the hook with the answer, let me ask you.

Can you see the intentional (or unintentional) genius in these words?

Let me explain.

Each and everyday you go without taking action toward living your ideal life, you move further away from it.

You may have heard that we live in a dynamic Universe, that everything is either growing or dying, expanding or contracting. Nothing is standing still, it doesn’t work that way.

Think about it, whether your health, net worth or relationships, everything is dynamic, everything is in motion. It is not natural to stand still.

Here’s my confession. For years as a child, I felt paralyzed by fear. I was scared to try new things or even express how I felt.

The trap is thinking you need to know precisely what to do in each moment.

The trick is silencing the inner critic enough to stay in motion… or get into motion.

You have felt the pain of “what could have been.”

Now remember how it felt when you achieved a special goal. You didn’t know which way to go, you just went and corrected course along the way.

Feel that joy and jubilation to your core.

Now think of a decision or action you have been putting off until you have it neatly ‘figured out.’

Stop standing at the fork in the road… take it!
