Note from David:

As you can tell, there are a lot of different ways to define success. What my definition of success and all the articles above have in common is that we took the time to “define success.”

Remember, you can’t get there from here if you don’t know where ‘there’ is.

That’s what the Let Your Millionaire Out Success System is all about. Helping you define success in a way that inspires you to act in spite of your fear and doubt.

Take a moment right now and write a draft definition of success in the comments section below…

What Is Your Definition of Success? | Let Your Millionaire Out

Everything You’ve Ever Been Taught About Success is Wrong! Here’s how you can gain an unfair advantage…

Let’s face it; most definitions of success you’ve ever learned are about achieving something in the future.

You might think:

I’ll be successful when I earn $1 million dollars

I’ll be successful when I’m a millionaire

I’ll be successful when I’m debt free

I’ll be successful when I find my perfect mate

You get the idea…

The Problem…

You see, the problem with these definitions is they’re based in the future. You know about the future, right? It never arrives; we’re always in the present.

So, wouldn’t it make sense if your definition of success was focused on the present?

Yes, success can be defined as the accomplishment of something desired. Here’s the problem, you tend to focus on the future and what you want to have, while in the present, focusing on what you don’t have.

This pattern is very hurtful because you deflate your self-esteem. By never achieving what you want, you become less confident.

How would you like to feel successful everyday?

How do you think that would effect your confidence and willingness to act?

Here’s a helpful tip

In creating your own definition, you might use a sentence that starts with,

“I know I’m being successful when…”

For example:

“I know I’m being successful when…

…I do my most important tasks at the beginning of the day.”

OR

… I listen completely to my partner.”

In whatever area of your life feels lacking, go ahead and write out the above question… and then answer it to the best of your ability TODAY.

Remember, as you do the daily Power Start as part of the Let Your Millionaire Out Success System, you’ll be reminded that the definition of Success is not a destination, but based in the present.

To Your Millionaire!

Is Your Definition of Success Too Harsh? | Let Your Millionaire Out

Is your definition of success too harsh? Are you the type of person that, as soon as you complete something, immediately set the next task to achieve.. without recognizing what you just accomplished?

Are you successful?

The dictionary defines Success as the accomplishment of your aim. There are many other definitions of success as well. Do you have a definition of success? If not, how can you ever be successful if you have never defined what that means?

A word of caution

Be careful about defining success in the future (e.g. “I’ll be successful when…”). When your definition success is based in the future, how can you ever be successful? It’s like doing something ‘tomorrow,’ because you know ‘tomorrow never comes.’

What’s the solution?

My definition of success is based in the present. It’s about now. I know I am ‘being’ successful when I give my best to the task at hand. Whether training for my black belt, giving a presentation to 500 people or playing with my children. I know I am being successful when I’m giving these things my all.

In the LetYour Millionaire Out Success System, you are asked to record successes each day. This is where the traditional view of success comes to play. When did you achieve that you strove to achieve.

Contradictory?

It comes down to your relationship with success. I want to feel successful while achieving more success. I do that by understanding different meanings. I am being successful when… and I achieve success when… But neither is about some remote, distant possibility, for success must be in the present for you to experience it at all.

If you find you’re tough on yourself and never give yourself a break, you may want to consider the Power Module to develop more supportive habits.

What Is Your Definition of Success? | Let Your Millionaire Out

Do you have a definition of success? Do you really know what that means to you?

Most people I talk to want ‘more.’

More money, more time, better health.

But is that it? If you just had more, would you define your life as successful?

Here’s $20, are you successful now?

You see, if you focus on more without identifying your ideal life, your ideal client, the perfect deal or an ideal day, you’re setting yourself up for frustration.

I’m frequently told that people can’t live like me. I work out of my home office, near my kids. My commute is a hallway and ‘rush hour’ is navigating the kids and dog in the morning.

I might work Saturday night and be jumping on the trampoline with the kids Tuesday at 1:0o p.m. in the afternoon. This, to me, is congruent with what it means to be successful.

I can do all this because I continue to identify my ideal. I know what my ideal day looks like (and have lived it thousands of times) I have perfect customers because I have identified them.

What about you?

How do you define success in all its forms? (Life, Year, Day, Client, Business, Deal, etc.)

Remember, you can’t get there from here if you don’t know where ‘there‘ is.

Start the process by sharing a definition of success below, then taking a little longer in private to truly contemplate each of the above areas.

To Your Millionaire!
David
