Success Secret: The Best Way to Start | Let Your Millionaire Out

Since the new (and improved) Let Your Millionaire Out Members Area has launched, I received a lot of questions about the system and secrets to being successful with it.

I’ll be addressing those in a couple days.

For now, I want to address one question that comes up more than most.

It’s usually a version of;

“When should I start (my product, approaching prospects, using the system)?”

“What’s the best way to (use the system, create product, approach a prospect)?”

The question seems good on the face of it, but the problem is it’s use as a way to delay actually doing something. So for that reason, it’s self-defeating.

Perhaps you’re a perfectionist and want everything “just right” before taking action.

Maybe, you just want to “make sure” you’ve done all you can before doing something.

Regardless, the issue comes down to action.

A simple success secret to remember is; “You can’t get from ‘here’ to ‘there’ without doing something.”

Let’s start with the system that you can access here <—–

I continue to receive email from those not sure what they should write where. Even though there are dozens of videos and audios teaching the exact steps.

You see, to get what you want, you have to define what you want…and that can be scary. To get what you want, you have to take action…and that can be scary.

When you come up to this fear, it’s an indicator that you’re about to leave your comfort zone…and that’s a good thing.

Delaying using a proven success system is an indicator that you’re uncomfortable.

Waiting to approach prospects (potential paying customers) is an indicator that you’re uncomfortable.

Most allow this fear to paralyze them, to keep them from taking action.

Not you!

You have a system to guide you step-by-step through the actions that can change your results.

The best way to start…is to start. Jump right in and start filling out the pages.

Guess at defining your ideal life.

Make mistakes, cross things out and just go for it.

That’s the beauty of the Let Your Millionaire Out Success System, by using it everyday, you can have fun creating and re-creating your life.

The resources are there waiting…can you work through the discomfort to get what you want?

I know you can…do you?

Go check out your resources and follow the steps outlined.

For those who are really hesitant, just spend a few minutes on the Power Start.

The secret to your success is to do a little each day.

Success is waiting..but you have to do something to get there.

To Your Millionaire!

Stupid Simple Time Management | Let Your Millionaire Out

Time management is not about time.

Time management is about you – it should be called “You Management.”

Last I checked time has been pretty consistent and predictable to the point of being boring. Twenty-four hours in a day. Seven days in a week. Three hundred sixty five days in a year.

Not much to figure out or “manage.”

No, let’s be clear. It’s not time you need to manage. It’s doing just fine. But you, now that’s another story.

My own struggles with time management go way back.

I was an expert in every time management system or planner available. From “The 7 Habits” to the original “Franklin Planner” to a 2×2 card system that had me shuffling colored cards in and out of slots.

Nothing seemed to help me manage my time better. I continued to struggle.

Early on, I’d show up at the office, turn on the computer, check email, browse internet news. Then, I’d go where my curiosity lead me online, or to the most pressing email in my inbox.

I knew better but I just couldn’t seem to break the bad habits. Each morning seemed to feel like I was getting on the hamster wheel just to spend my energy going nowhere.

And then I stumbled on what I call a “stupid simple” time management tip that dramatically changed my results. And it was not limited to business.

But before I share it with you, consider the ‘cost’ of not managing YOU.

Have you had those days where you get to the end of the day and wondered what happened? You were busy but nothing seemed to get done.

Maybe you have those days too often.

Every once in a while I have one of those days. A lot less than I used to. But when I do, I feel terrible.

I feel guilty for what I “could have” accomplished. I feel upset with myself for not doing more. I feel like I wasted a day without much to show for it.

Then I’d get depressed because I was “one day further” from living the life I wanted.

Overall, it just sucked.

Productive Days

We’ve all had them. You know, those days where you’re “on fire” and accomplish things like a person possessed! Nothing is too complicated. No task faces a chance when coming up against you.

You’re a shining example of efficiency and effectiveness.

If only that feeling would last. And then you’d login and see those emails. Get sidetracked by those voicemails…and find yourself back on the hamster wheel.

Stupid Simple

Sometimes being stupid is the best thing I can do. Being stupid means lacking common sense. And let’s face it, common sense is not what it’s cracked up to be.

There’s a lot of time management tips shared by well-meaning people. Problem is, you have to manage all that information…and managing is the very problem you’re struggling with.

Times like that, I need simple. I need something that doesn’t require managing or figuring out.

I need one-thing that is the foundation of my day, everyday.

That’s where the “Stupid Simple Time Management Strategy” comes in.

It’s This: Do One Thing.

Front Cover of LYMO Success System

Huh? I can hear you say.

Seriously. On your “To Do” pad, Outlook, iCal, notebook, or even your Let Your Millionaire Out Success System – write out just one thing to achieve today.

Better yet, just write out and commit to doing one specific thing, each and every day.

Let me explain.

If you plan your day, you may write down 5, 7 or even more things “To Do” today. At the end of the day, there’s usually some not done (or all). And then tomorrow, you go through the whole routine again.

The problem is you’re feeling a little less confident because you didn’t follow through on your “commitment.” This is a descending cycle of convincing yourself you’re not [fill in the blank with a non-supportive thought].

Try This.

Consider the one thing that will move you closer to your ideal day, week, year or life. Whatever. What one thing, if accomplished today, will move you a little closer to what you really want?

Write it down. That’s your one thing. Now go after it. Don’t do anything else until it’s done. Or if you have to, don’t end the day until it’s done.

It’s About Commitment.

Can you see this through? Can you accomplish this one thing? That’s really what this is all about, achieving what you commit to achieving.

“Oh, but I can’t pick just one thing,” you might think.

Do it. Pick one thing and one thing only.

How would you feel if you committed to do one thing, but accomplished five? A lot better than committing to seven, and only accomplishing five. Same amount of work, but feeling a whole lot better.

Advanced Stupid Simple Time Management

As you go committing to one thing each day, understand the difference between conditional and un-conditional commitments.

A conditional commitment describes the variables under which you’ll do something. For example, you might commit to writing every morning, Monday through Friday, for an hour.

The “Monday through Friday” is the condition to the commitment. You gave yourself Saturday and Sunday.

While still powerful, there’s a crack that can be exploited. Perhaps one Thursday morning, you sleep in, and hey, what’s one extra day, you think.

Unconditional commitment is exactly that. It’s those things that you commit to regardless. Things like integrity and fidelity are (hopefully) examples of unconditional commitments.

Now imagine applying one, just one, of these to business. This can be a very powerful time management strategy.

How?

Imagine if you committed, every single day, seven days per week, 365 days per year (unconditional) to:Talk to one person about how you could help them.

That’s 30 people per month. That’s a lot of potential business.

Are you beginning to see the power of this strategy?

WARNING: Your Word is Your Bond

Don’t be reckless with your commitment.

Start small and stay small until you’ve mastered this.

Make one commitment and stick with it. Over time, you may be tempted to increase the number. Be vigilant with your commitments.

And be really careful with unconditional commitments. I have one regarding exercise. There are seven simple exercises that I do each and everyday. Period. I call them “The Daily 7” because…I do them daily…and there are seven of them.

But the other night, about half an hour before going to sleep, I realized I hadn’t done them. Did I say, “Oh well, I’ll do them twice tomorrow?” Nope, I made a commitment.

So, there I was, right before bed, doing my daily exercises. It wasn’t fun, but I felt a lot better because I had followed through.

Go ahead. Pick one thing, if done everyday, could produce radical results in your life.

Don’t struggle with this or take three days to figure out. Pick one thing, the first thing that pops into your mind…not what you think you “should” do…and write it down.

Now commit to doing it everyday.

And if you have the guts, share your commitment below in the comments section.

The benefits of being skeptical far outweigh blind faith and conventional wisdom. When it comes to success, there are many attributes and lessons to be learned.

I was reading an interview with investment legend Jim Rogers about his recent book “A Gift to My Children: A Father’s Lessons for Life and Investing.”

Jim Rogers is best known for co-founding the Quantum Fund with billionaire George Soros.

This fund famously returned 4,200% in just 10 years. He retired at age 37 to travel the world, and has since written five books on investing and success.

He has a long storied career and I encourage you to learn more about this man and investment legend.

What’s That Have To Do With You

I found the interview a good read and noticed near the end, the interviewer was asking about some of the wonderful life-lessons he learned over his career and various travels.

He responded:

Rogers: Sure… Be skeptical… Be curious… Don’t believe anything you read until you’ve done your own research, your own thinking. This idea is responsible for some of my biggest successes.

Be Skeptical, Be Curious, don’t believe anything you read until you’ve don your own research and thinking.

This characteristic made him hundreds of millions of dollars financially, and served him in other areas of his life.

Being Skeptical Is a Good Thing

Why this interview struck me is that recently, on two occasions, I’ve been charged with being skeptical as if it were a bad thing.

The people directing the charge implied negative intent – mostly because I just didn’t “buy” what they were saying, or reserved agreement or judgement until I’d done my own research.

I took their charge of skepticism as a compliment. So should you.

To be skeptical means to not be easily convinced, to have doubts or reservations.

To me, it’s the opposite of blind faith.

Another Benefit of Skepticism is You Can Get More Clients

Getting more clients, investing and overall success can happen quicker through skepticism. Let me explain.

Let’s say you get an email offering a WordPress Plugin that will; drive and convert traffic, build a product for you, sell it and send you the money while you sleep – all you have to do is give them $97 and it’s yours.

This scenario is easy, you get this emails almost daily and are already so skeptical, you probably won’t even go check out the offer.

But what about investing?

Are you the type that hears a good tip on CNBC or a friend, and goes and buys 100 shares?

The investing skeptic may consider such a tip like the email offer, and just discard it, or best-case, research the company and compare it against what they heard.

Politicians say a lot of things, but what they do is more important. One might say they seek peace, but continually authorizing more military intervention.

And what about all those fitness/exercise infomercials – do those products really work?

Well, that’s why they use all those testimonials, to try and address your skepticism.

What About Getting Clients

When talking to prospects about what I do, I sense some hesitation, or doubt. They seem to put on their “skeptic hat” once I talk about anything business related.

I think it’s based on our heavy sales and marketing culture. People are bombarded with advertisements and pitch’s all day long. It’s made us all a little more skeptical.

And that’s a good thing.

Here’s How You Can Benefit From Skepticism

When you’re talking or writing to prospects, consider them as highly skeptical. Consider their objections to your various claims, features and promises… and address them.

What objections come to mind regarding your product or service?

Cost?

Have too many other programs I haven’t implemented?

Not sure what I get out of your program.

Not sure what it does.

Not sure how it works

Not sure why I need it

How do I know it will work?

What if I don’t like it?

Is it expensive (or a good deal?)

Why are you uniquely qualified to sell me this?

Can you think of others?

By understanding their objections and other considerations keeping your prospect from signing up, buying or otherwise engaging your services, you can address these in your messaging.

Dealing with skepticism as a business person is not a passive affair. If you rely on your prospect to go and research the answers to the above objections, you won’t see many sales.

If, however, you anticipate the sources of their skepticism and address their concerns, you can help them overcome their doubts and make the purchase.

And that’s when you can start welcoming more business, and success, into your life.

To Your Skeptic,

Success Secret: Do This Before Anything Else | Let Your Millionaire Out

During a recent support teleclass, I shared a lot of the strategies that I have used to achieve success in numerous ventures. These took me years to learn and cost me thousands (many thousands of dollars).

There was some confusion over accessing the call.

Since I went through the Let Your Millionaire Out Success System, I opened the call up to only those members who have purchased it.

If you have the system, you can simply go to the download page and gain access to the recording. I’ll send an email with further instructions.

If you didn’t purchase it or weren’t able to make the call, let me recap it for you.

I created the Let Your Millionaire Out Success System years ago as a starting point when working privately with clients.

From my experience, there are foundational issues that must be in place before you can effectively grow and change your results.

What are the Basics?

Simple, look at the basic structure.

There’s the daily success system which helps you get clear about what you want while developing a daily habit of deliberately creating your day.

Then there’s the Focus, Passion, Power and Profit Modules. You can put the pieces together. You need to focus your energy, doing what you’re passionate about. You have to be able to act in spite of fear (Power) and know how to make money doing what you love.

Those are the basic elements that must be in place, from my experience, before you start worrying about USP’s, SEO, branding, sales funnel and everything else. If you try to build on a weak foundation, you’ll find that your ‘house of cards’ will eventually come tumbling down.

The Call and the System

The daily success system was the focus of the call, and thus, this article.

My success in Special Forces, building businesses, running Ironmans and other ventures, can be attributed to taking daily, consistent and effective actions. It required perseverance.

The Let Your Millionaire Out Success System was developed to give you a simple, 10-minute-per-day, practice to deliberately creating your results.

The initial 15 pages don’t look so intimidating, but as was shared yesterday, you can quickly get caught up into it and dive deep into layers of yourself you weren’t aware of.

The Hardest Part

The System is something I’m very proud of. Like you, I’ve read hundreds of self-help, success and other related books. I’ve gone to dozens of seminars and bought numerous home study courses.

My challenge, years ago, was condensing that information into actionable steps without becoming overwhelmed.

You see, I found myself with over a dozen notebooks, strategies and recommendations. I had a success journal, gratitude journal, to do list, vision boards, affirmations and numerous other things I was trying to keep track up, and was even more confused than before I read all those things.

I Needed Simplicity

That’s when I said; “Enough!” I decided to simplify the key points and strategies of what I studied, learned or personally experienced as effective strategies.

I wanted to integrate everything into a single system, make it simple, and not invest more than 10-15 minutes per day.

Why 10-15 minutes? Because I always had 10-15 minutes, but anything over that and I’d come up with excuses for why I couldn’t.

How About You

You’ve, no doubt, read a lot about business, success and mindset. And like me, you may still have a lot of that information all over the place while you ‘try to figure out’ how to integrate it all.

My advice is to organize it quickly and make sense of it, or put it aside and forget about it. If that sounds like too much work, I’d suggest picking one strategy or habit and focus on developing it until it becomes part of how you do things – and then pick the next one to develop.

Or, you can speed up the process and use the system I developed. But, only for 10-15 minutes per day.

This will give you a step-by-step system to follow everyday for consistency.

It will ensure you’re deliberately creating your day.

Most People Do This

From my experience, most people don’t have what they want because they don’t know what they want.

Oh sure, they’re experts of what they; don’t like, don’t want or don’t have. But when you ask them what they do want, they reply; “I don’t know.”

I share a quote in the system; “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there.”

“More” is not an effective desired outcome.

More money can be a by-product of doing what you love, but ‘more money’ is not an effective goal for most people.

I designed the Let Your Millionaire Out Success System to help you, through a very deliberate process, to get clear – really clear – about what you want. It’s the process I used to breakthrough my own fog of confusion, and the process I continue to use daily.

In Conclusion

No matter what you do. Whether you take the shortcut and get my system, or decide to figure it out for yourself. I’d encourage you to take daily, small, effective actions that move you closer to the desired outcome you want. And if you’re not sure what that outcome is, or it doesn’t inspire you, I’d recommend getting really clear before moving forward.

To Your Millionaire!

QnA Why You Are Not Getting More Clients | Let Your Millionaire Out

It’s been a busy week getting ready for a new product launch… while limping around the with sore legs from my race.
[Click here if you missed my recap]

Lucky for me that I get energized helping the “Free Agent” achieve their goal of independence. There’s nothing more satisfying than hanging up the phone, knowing I’ve made a difference.

… of course, it’s not all peaches and cream. I get lots of questions from readers, clients… and even some passers-by (but that was for directions).

To handle your requests, I’m going to start dedicating Friday emails to responding to the questions you have.

Questions come down to a fee key areas:
1. Finding prospective clients online
2. Finding prospective clients offline
3. Mindset
4. Marketing

Q from John: “I know what I want to offer to clients. I think they all need [my services] but I haven’t gotten any new clients in over a month… Help”

Response: This is an issue I see often. Having so much desire to help people and make a difference. First, kudos for wanting to help others, the world’s a better place.

Understand that just because you “have it” doesn’t mean someone else “wants it.” You may have the best widget in the world – and nobody cares.

Tough words perhaps, but that’s reality – as evidenced by the lack of response.

Now, here are some steps to take…

Step 1: What is the problem you are the solution for?
- Notice I said ‘problem’ and not “what do you want to do…”

If you can’t answer this question in 1-2 sentences, rethink your offer. If you have to educate me for 5 minutes about an issue first, rethink your offer.

Step 2: Is there a current need?
- You might have the most advanced robot to go out and retrieve mail from the mailbox (it’s a need), but are people actively looking for such a solution, and are they willing to pay thousands for such a device.

There are some quick ways to determine the need:

Step 3: Check Google (search and keyword tool)
- what keywords are people using to search for something like you have to offer.
- are there many searches (over 10,000 per month) or a few, like 75 per month
- are there other sites offering something similar?

Step 4: Ask for feedback from associates who are/might be potential clients.
- Do they understand what you just said, do they relate to the issue, can they recommend a different message?

Step 5: Check Clickbank to see comparable products or services… and their gravity rating.

Wrap-Up:

You might feel you have the greatest product or service and it has the potential to change the world if enough people experience it.

However, if no one is actively searching for, or even realize they need your product, than you have the bankrupting task of educating them first… and that doesn’t work out too well.

Got Questions?

To get your question answered, post a comment to this article online or email us separately.

It can be on one of the topics above; online, offline, mindset and marketing… or you can stray a bit.

Either way, let me know how I can help you continue to live life on your terms.

To Your Millionaire!

I Failed To Reach My Goal | Let Your Millionaire Out

I failed to reach my goal the other day.

Last Saturday, I ran myself into shear pain and exhaustion during the Desert RATS 25-mile trail run in Fruita, Colorado.

You see, I told my friends that I was going to complete my first 50-mile running race. I was supposed to do two laps.

I did only one. 25 miles instead of 2 laps for 50 miles.

It was a grueling course filled with ups and downs and virtually no time to just get into the groove of running.

By the end of my first lap, I knew it was physically impossible for me to run another 25 miles. My quads were shot and my knee was buckling.

How’d I feel emotionally? Was I hard on myself, beating myself up for failure?

No, I felt great!

I set a goal (to run the 50), created a plan and trained toward that objective. Things didn’t go as planned.

I did my best and adapted to the circumstances.

How about you?

I hear so many stories of readers and clients setting goals, not achieving them and then beating themselves for their failure.

How’s that working for you?

In the Marines, we used to say the plan goes out the window once the first shot is fired. It meant we had to learn how to adapt, improvise and overcome reality… or else.

Things rarely go as planned. Can you accept that?

Can you adapt and adjust to the way things DO turn out?

Can you overcome?

For me, limping the final miles was agonizing, but that’s what I could do with what I was dealt with that day.

I chose to make the most of it, be proud of my performance, hold my head high (and my feet higher after the finish) and smile all the while.

Besides, I didn’t fail. To me, a mistake is when you fall down, failure is when you choose not to get back up.

So, you’ve probably been knocked down recently.

Are you ready to get back up?

To Your Millionaire!

How FAR do you want to go? | Let Your Millionaire Out

The other day I had a conversation I have often.

My friend was working on various projects, making some progress, but not the results they were looking for.

You’ve probably heard that you can be a jack-of-all-trades, yet master of none.

I’ve dealt with it myself when I have 15+ projects I want to get done, think I have to schedule time for each of them each week. But, that doesn’t work out for me, as I tend to end up feeling overwhelmed, while making little headway.

What does work is much less dramatic. It comes down to asking myself a simple question:

How FAR do I want to go?

F.A.R. = Focused Action leads to my Result

Pretty simple really. But not necessarily easy.

It means being like the plate spinner at the circus. What does the plate spinner do? You know the guy who gets 10 plates spinning at the same time.

Does he try spinning all 10 plates at the same time?

Of course not, it’s obvious, he would become very frustrated, very quickly… and fail.

No, the plate-spinner gets one plate spinning before attempting to get the 2nd plate spinning. Once he does this, he goes back and makes sure the 1st plate is still spinning, gives it a few more spins, then moves on to the 3rd plate.

Implications for you?

If you’re trying to:
- Get some videos made
- Write articles
- Book speaking engagements
- Work on proposals
- Update your website… oh, you get the idea.

Pick one thing, get it ‘spinning’ and then move on to the next one.

Even if you just spent one week per activity, how do you think your results would be affected?

How FAR do you want to go today?

Where Did Your Money Go? | Let Your Millionaire Out

April is tax time in the US.

If you live in the US, you might have rushed around at the last minute to complete your return and send it in.

If you’re the more proactive type, or probably due a refund, you completed your taxes months ago.

Regardless, learning about your taxes can teach you how to get more clients.

The below chart is titled:
“Where Did My Tax Dollars Go?”

As you can see from the image, the government has a clear understanding of two things:

1) where the money came from (us)
2) where the money was spent

What does that mean to you?

It means understanding where your dollars were spent.

For instance, every month, I review my companies P&L report (Profit & Loss) to see where it came in, and where it went out.

Next, I can analyze the “In” and do more of whatever brought it in.

Then, I analyze the “out” to see the return on the effort.

I don’t just attempt to reduce the out, because if I spent $1000 on advertising that returned 2 new clients, then I want to do that again… and again.

However, if I spent $1000 on advertising and I received no new clients, leads or signups, I need to look at, improve or drop that effort.

Do you know where your money goes?

How about your time and Energy?

By keeping track of where your time, energy and money go, and the results they return, you can make better decisions to improve your results.

It starts with knowing what your most effective activities are.

That’s a topic for another article.

To Your Millionaire!

One of the cool thing about success quotes to me is that people from all walks of life are represented.

I’ve shared quotes from professional athletes, philosophers, Billionaires, Millionaires, Moms, Dads and anyone who doesn’t fit into that category. Here’s another wonderful quote about success from a legendary comedian.

I don’t know the key to success is, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.” ~ Bill Cosby

How many times have been made worrying about how others would respond?

How many ideas never saw the light of day because you were worried how others might react?

I know my list was long and a source of pain. I can still remember key points in my life, crossroads, where I let the influence of others turn me away from my preference.

I can still feel the pain associated with making those decisions.

What I like about Bill’s Cosby’s word about success is the independence implied. You may understand that some of your best decisions were also some of the hardest to make because of the resistance you heard from well-intentioned family and friends.

For me, it got to the point that I created the “Dad-O-Meter.” Simply put, the more my Dad objected to one of my decisions, the better I knew the decision was for me.

Earlier in my life, I found being true to myself to be one of the more challenging things to do. I recognized identifying what I wanted to do… and doing it were two of the hardest activities for anyone.

It’s why I created the Passion Module. It’s my attempt to help you get really clear as to what success means to you.

What does this quote mean to you? What experience in your life relates to it?

This success quote by Goethe gets a lot of attention. You may have seen it in one of many incantations.

Below is one such incantation that relates to the process of decision making. How many of us have actually struggled with decisions?

There are few worst feelings than doubt and indecision. The crippling effects of which can impact us for years, even a life time.

You may notice that I share success quotes often in these posts. You may be wondering why.

I find most success quotes have stood the test of time. That means, except on rare occasions, the quotes we come to love, identify with or even grudgingly respect, were stated or written more than a year and as old as thousands of years ago.

“Each indecision brings its own delays and days are lost lamenting over lost days… What you can do or think you can do, begin it. For boldness has magic, power, and genius in it.” ~ Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

This quote, in its entirety is listed in “Rock-Solid Commitment” building section of The Power Module.

I can related to Goethe’s “delays and days are lost” comment. I used to have a lot of ideas and intentions floating around in my head. But, I also suffered from poor follow through. You may have experience this feeling of disappointment.

You may have even seen one of your ideas being successfully sold in stores. Meanwhile, you’re stuck in “what-could-have-been” thinking. But, what do you do about it?

For me, it was about reaching that point of being ‘sick and tired of being sick and tired’ that prompted me to take action. It was about committing to claiming my power and achieving different results.

And since that day, I’ve enjoyed much greater levels of success.

What does this success quote mean to you? What similar experience have you had?
